Pioneer Day

We had such a fun primary activity for Pioneer Day! The boys got to dress up, play horseshoes, hammer nails, and make their own ice cream.

6:30am...Pioneer Day 5k, Sky and Dad preparing for their big race.
Laker patiently waiting for Sky and Dad at the finish line.

Here they come!
Run Sky run!!!
And Sky pulls infront of Dad for an awesome finish!
The big winners!
Mom couldn't be prouder of her #1 Sky!

The Bus - part IV

It's never ending... like Rocky. You have so much to look forward to...

Part IV was just pure fun- campin in the back yard. Boys just had to. And boys froze. Note: summer doesn't mean it's warm at night in Utah unless you are a bear.

Laker is our big 5 year old

Indiana Jones is in our front yard!!!

Could he really be 5 already? Just a few requests...a Super Mario Bros cake and the real Woody from Toy Story had to come to his party. Dreams do come true!

Sparkler candles on the cake were a hit and Laker blew them out with his giant Bowser blow!

Ok, Mom gets some bonus points for the coolest cake ever. It didn't last long, but oh it was worth it!

Happy Birthday Laker!

The Bus - part III

The paint. Ok, so only one neighbor moved and Jeff only cried a little bit due to some orange peel but other than that paint is going awesome. Tonight Jeff is getting very 'tired.'

I feel pretty, I feel pretty, I feel pretty and witty and ...white.
And I pitty any girl who isn't me tonight!

The Bus - part II

We are making progress and thought we'd update you on how surgery is going...

Face Lift...

Hip replacement (or as we like to call it, 'bruised love handle' recovery)

Rear End Lift

And some other cosmetic fixes.

All in all, she came through pretty well and Jeff learned how to cut chunks of a car off and how to put new parts in.

Onto step 3...the step that makes grown men cry and neighbors move away...car paint.

The Bus

So we decided to go to 'sweet home Alabama' and pick up a '79 Westfalia Bus...

We ran into a tornado scare in Kansas....

And then 30 hours later we saw her standing there...

Admittedly we were disappointed. The 'ad' and 'photos' that we had seen were very misleading.
There was a lot more rust than was stated. She needed a lot more tlc than was noted.
It was so sad to see this gal rotting away in the south.

Ok, first things first...get rid of the hebrew Jesus fish. Fast...just like a bandaid.

Some things to note:
Her love handles were pretty bruised :)

Her rain gutters were scary...

And her parts were showing, oh my.

She obviously needed saved from this leprosy infected land.

So up on the trailer she went and 32 hours later...she was home. SWEET HOME UTAH.

A special thanks to:

Mark & Jorgene Wilson (for the car trailer & love and support)
The cop that gave us a warning instead of a ticket during the climb of the Colorado Rockies
The Crippen Family (for taking care of our boys during the adventure)
and to
SKY & LAKER (for being so patient all weekend long and enduring the LONG ride home)
